What??? That's not a real gymnast.

I love that Toyota Venza commercial when the girl is sitting in front of her computer talking about how she urged her parents to join Facebook and now they have 19 friends. Her 600 and some friends she claims is "living" and at the end she talks about a puppy being too small to be real. Come on, you know what commercial I mean. It makes me laugh.

That's how I felt when I first saw the video of Johanna Quaas... Germany's oldest active gymnast at 86 years old. What you say? Yep. It is true. The lady is amazing. If there is anyone out there who could inspire me to become more active she may be it. Check her out...

I believe c7f will be doing a more in-depth motivational post about her and I am sure they will give you great tips and workout ideas so you can have sweet moves like this at 86 years old.

Meal Plan

I have decided a helpful tool may be to give you my weekly meal plan.  Since you already know I do not have the skills to make up my own recipes I will give you a link to what I'll be making and what changes I'll make to the meals if they are not paleo to begin with.  Also, don't blame me if they are bad...I make a lot of new things and some of them are not good.  Sorry.  So here is my plan for this week....

Monday:  Thai-Style Steak Salad
          - for soy sauce i'll use soy free tahini sauce
          - for sugar i'll use honey
          - for vegetable oil i'll use coconut or olive
          - for peanuts i'll use walnuts or almond slices
          - i may not use bean sprouts

Tuesday:  Roasted Chicken with Shredded Beet Salad (the recipe on Martha Stewarts website doesn't match the recipe I have from her cookbook, so here is a link to someone who wasn't too lazy to repost it)

Wednesday:  Chicken with Poblano Cream Sauce (new)
-i'll use coconut milk instead of heavy cream
-i'll use cauliflower instead of rice

Thursday:  Cheat Day*

Friday: Free Day**

Saturday:  Hamburgers with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and avocado with Sweet Potato Fries

Sunday: Roast with Carrots and Sweet Potatoes

*On Thursdays Adam is gone so Donovan and I eat a frozen pizza and watch a movie after we get home from his martial arts.  It's okay....go ahead and judge....
**I have a birthday celebration I'll be at on Friday so the boys will be on their own.

Remember...

....last post when I said my husband was amazing. Well, let me prove it to you...
He climbs to the top of coconut palms to retrieve coconuts for his sweet little boy. See...
So he is an amazing athlete and a great dad. Awww....tear. You know what is cool. You could do it too. It is a workout program called MovNat that enables you to move in certain ways and encourages you to use your environment as your gym. It is an unconventional way to workout- wait- is that weird? To say being outside, climbing trees, lifting rocks, etc...is unconventional? It shouldn't be, but in today's view of a gym/workout it is a bit out of the ordinary. You know what though, it is pretty awesome. My husband and his friend David work out every Saturday in our backyard and our little 4 year old loves to join in. Heck, I even like it. Maybe someday I'll join in so I have some credibility to back up my statement that it is awesome. For now the proof is in the coconut.

I stink.

It has been over a year since I last wrote. That is horrible. I do have some excuses and I think they are legit, but I'll spare you since the real reason is I know no one actually read the blog so I stopped. Truth. Also, we added a kid to the family (I couldn't resist at least one excuse...) So now, I've been toying with starting again because my husband is amazing and he has this website/business/thing concept7fitness.com and I thought just maybe if he lets me I can be a "companion" to his website. I'll have that talk with him this evening and if there is a post tomorrow, well, I guess you'll know it was yes and if not, I may just keep going anyway... My problem is I do not create. I come up with nothing new and am not consistent so I'm not sure what the point to having a blog about a paleo lifestyle is if all I do is use other peoples recipes and sneak chocolate chip cookies while the husband is out of town. While he is home though, we do really well. He is actually doing the whole30 program that is spelled out for you at whole9life.com. Check it out. You can also see the husbands progress at c7f. So if you're interested in seeing what our life looks like on the paleo diet feel free to revisit the site. I'll post links to the recipes I use and perhaps I'll get creative and try doing some of my own. I've been watching Masterchef lately so I'm feeling inspired. Those people are rad. I do have some brilliant ideas though and if I ever decide to pursue them it might be nice to have been blogging my journey, but I really like staying at home with my kids and I don't want to sacrifice my time with them to actually pursue these ideas. I have a pretty cush lifestyle as of now and I'd be out of my mind to change that. If, however, you know of anyone who can buy my ideas from me and give me a royalty after they get filthy rich from them I'd be happy with that arrangement. lmk. Last thing. I eat paleo regularly (unless the head of the household is gone, then I eat all the comfort casseroles I can in his absence), but I do not exercise. I should, but I don't. I think though, I might start. So that might be an interesting thing to talk about. Most other paleo people talk about how in love with Crossfit they are, but not me. I like not working out. But I'm not strong anymore and that sucks. We will see... I lied...this is the last thing. I have a glass of wine almost every night. Even when the husband is in town. So even though we are pretty strict, I still have that glass and I don't plan to change that. Just so you know.
